The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) on Saturday extended its gratitude to the Civil Service Commission (CSC) for granting qualified military and uniformed personnel (MUP) 10 bonus points in the Civil Service Examinations (CSE).
“This recognition is a significant affirmation of the selfless service, discipline, and sacrifice demonstrated daily by our men and women in uniform. It reinforces the value of public service across domains—whether on the battlefield, in disaster response, or in the civil bureaucracy,” AFP spokesperson Col. Francel Margareth Padilla told Manila Standard.
Starting August 10, the bonus points will be given to eligible MUP candidates with at least 10 years of honorable service, a “Very Satisfactory” rating, and submit documents within six months of the CSE results.
The AFP spokesperson said the military supports efforts that enable its personnel to transition successfully into civilian life and continue serving the nation in other meaningful capacities.
“We likewise affirm our commitment to professionalism and excellence, as we encourage all personnel to pursue lifelong learning and civil service with honor and integrity,” Padilla said.
“We appreciate this inclusive and empowering measure that uplifts our troops and recognizes their contributions to nation-building,” she added.
According to CSC, this initiative aims to support members of the AFP, Philippine National Police (PNP), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), Bureau of Corrections (BuCor), and Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) in transitioning to civilian government roles.
