Senator Grace Poe hailed the Senate’s approval of the Konektadong Pinoy Act (KPA), which aims to improve internet access for Filipinos.
Poe’s Senate Bill No. 864 is included in the KPA, focusing on easier network building and aligning the country with international standards.
The senator, formerly with the Senate Committee on Public Services, now leads the Finance Committee. The KPA, or Senate Bill No. 2699, proposes key changes: simpler telecom company approvals, better radio spectrum management, infrastructure sharing, and consumer protection standards.
An amendment introduced by Poe seeks to attract new technologies like low-earth orbit satellites, potentially paving the way for companies like Starlink, which has already invested ₱600 million. Ram Superable
