The Philippine Navy and the Presidential Security Command (PSC) have beefed up collaboration in a bid to bolster the country’s defense posture, maritime security, and operational readiness “in addressing both conventional and emerging security challenges.”
This as PSC deputy chief Marine Brig. Gen. Ronaldo Juan visited the Philippine Fleet (PF) headquarters in Subic, Zambales.
Juan also called on PF commander as represented by PF inspector general Capt. Joselito de Guzman, followed by a command briefing on the fleet’s ongoing initiatives, strategic priorities, and operational advancements, with discussions focused on the unit’s vital role in safeguarding the country’s maritime interests and enhancing naval capabilities in line with national defense objectives.
Juan proceeded to an ocular inspection of the Navy’s state-of-the-art frigate and flagship BRP Jose Rizal (FF150). As the first of its class, FF150 represents the cutting edge of the Navy’s modernization efforts, equipped with advanced systems for surveillance, surface, and anti-air warfare operations.
Juan’s visit underscored the importance of fostering inter-agency coordination and enhancing synergy among key units responsible for national security, the PF said.
