The event also brought together leaders, stakeholders, and tourism advocates to celebrate and promote the vibrant travel and hospitality sector of the country, highlighting that of North Luzon.

Representing DOT Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco, Undersecretary Shahlimar Hofer Tamano shared how the event stands as a powerful example of collaboration between the private sector, the government, and local communities.

“Since its inception in 2022 at the SMX Convention Center Clark in Pampanga, followed by the second edition in 2023 at the CAP Convention Center in Baguio City, NLTEx has grown in both scope and impact. This year’s edition, hosted here in San Juan, La Union, not only focuses on revitalizing the tourism industry but also underscores our commitment to biodiversity conservation. Together, we emphasize not just the economic potential of tourism but also its role as a force for preserving our environment, celebrating our culture, and uplifting the lives of our people,” Tamano said.

The three-day event also highlighted cultural musical and dance ensembles and gastronomic delight.

Officials meanwhile said tourism-oriented infrastructure developments are also on the pipeline to upgrade the existing facilities in the region.

Region 1,2, 3,and Cordillera Administrative Region’s airports are in the prior list for restructuring followed by land-based mass transport and accessibility to existing and new places of interest.
