The Philippine Air Force (PAF) conducted aerial relief operations to deliver boxes of supplies from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) in Northern Luzon.
For this mission, the PAF utilized their Tactical Operations Wing Northern Luzon (TOWNOL) and Tactical Operations Group 2 (TOG 2).
Employing two Black Hawk helicopters from the PAF’s Air Mobility Command, they transported 1,000 boxes of family food packs to the hard-to-reach coastal areas of Maconacon, Isabela.
Additionally, 1,650 boxes of relief supplies were delivered to the islands of Fuga and Calayan in Cagayan.
Meanwhile, the PAF’s C130 aircraft performed multiple sorties in recent days to transport relief packs to Basco, Batanes, benefiting other communities in the northernmost islands of Itbayat and Sabtang.
On the ground, troops from the Air Force, Philippine Army, Philippine National Police, Philippine Coast Guard, Philippine Marine Corps, and civilian volunteers collaborated to load and unload the relief supplies.
“The PAF along with other government agencies remains steadfast in its mission to serve and support the Filipino people, especially in times of disasters and calamities, reaffirming its commitment to disaster response and humanitarian efforts across the country,” said PAF Spokesperson Col. Maria Consuelo Castillo.
