Cavite celebrates ‘Tinapang Salinas’ fest

ROSARIO, CAVITE–The annual celebration of the Tinapang Salinas Festival–held on October 19 in the town proper– drew thousands of local and foreign tourists.

The colorful costume designs of students from elementary to secondary schools who showed off their dancing skills at the annual Street Dance Competition caught the attention of the crowd.

Fourteen groups participated in the competition which was won by Bagbag National High School and MCDEES Elementary School.

The Tinapang Salinas Festival is celebrated every October in Rosario, Cavite. This festival is celebrated to promote the image of the town of Rosario where the smoked fish better known as “Tinapang Salinas” originated.

Organizers said that because of the annual Tinapang Salinas Festival held every October, more people are now interested in the town’s traditional products, such as smoked fish.
