‘200% pay for work on regular holiday’

Private employees who will report for work during regular holidays will be paid 200 percent of their wages, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) reminded employers Thursday.

For employees who will not report for work, DOLE said they will still be paid 100 percent of their wage for that day, subject to certain requirements under the implementing rules and regulations of the Labor Code, as amended.

Labor Secretary Bienvenido Laguesma signed an advisory specifying thewage computations for regular holidays and special non-workingholidays for 2024.

Laguesma said the move is to remind all private-sector employers to ensure the proper payment of wages in accordance with the guidelines set out in Labor Advisory No. 27, Series of 2023.
