Police arrested in Taguig City a suspected member of a communist group wanted for murder and other criminal offenses in Southern Tagalog.

Metro Manila police director Brig. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez identified the suspect as Lucila Guilas Liabres, who uses the aliases Yvonne, Sam, and Ayang, and is tagged as a wanted Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) member with a P280,000 reward for her capture.

A composite team from the National Capital Region Police Office, Regional Intelligence Division, Special Operations Group, and Taguig City Police Station conducted the operation on Monday, resulting in the suspect’s arrest.

The police operation was based on intelligence information provided by NCRPO Regional Intelligence Unit 4B and the Philippine National Police – Intelligence Group.

Nartatez said Liabres was wanted for murder, multiple attempted murders, multiple frustrated murders, and theft and had held various positions in the CTG organization in Mindoro.

The suspect was brought to Taguig City Police Station for documentation and later to the PNP Intelligence Group office at Camp Crame, Quezon City, for proper disposition and initial custody before she was transferred to Mindoro.

Nartatez commended the policemen responsible for the successful operation and vowed to continue the anti-criminality campaign for the safety and security of the public.

“I commend the effort of the units responsible for the successful conduct of the police operation that led to the arrest of the accused. Rest assured that we will continue to intensify our anti-criminality campaign for the safety and security of the public,” he said.
