Former government executive Dave Almarinez and his wife, the actress Ara Mina, recently unveiled the offices of their holding company A Force Ventures at Bonifacio Global City in Taguig City with their venture partner, the actor Dingdong Dantes, leading guests and officials present.
In an interview, Almarinez told the Standard: “We are looking for concepts of potential (businesses) that can be expanded. Either we invest in them or actually partner with them. Or we provide our experience.”
A holding company is defined in Investopedia as a company that owns other companies and oversees their operations but exists solely to operate those subsidiaries.
Almarinez was president and CEO of state-owned Philippine International Trading Company (PITC) from 2017 to 2021. A true rags-to-riches story from his hometown in Laguna, the entrepreneur has held senior posts in various multinational corporations in the Philippines and abroad.
