Lazatin resumes cash aid to solo parents

ANGELES CITY—Mayor Carmelo Lazatin, Jr. rolled out on Wednesday the house-to-house distribution of ₱1,000 cash assistance, plus five kilos of rice and three-month supply of Vitamin C supplements targeting exactly 202 registered solo parents in the city.

This initial distribution covered Barangays Amsic with 78 beneficiaries, Anunas with 96, and Agapito Del Rosario with 28.

“Kaisa po ninyo ang lokal na pamahalaan sa pagsisikap ninyong maitaguyod ang inyong mga anak,” Lazatin told the beneficiaries.

The City Social Welfare and Development Office  headed by Edna Duaso and Solo Parents Affairs focal person Rebecca Peñaranda assisted the mayor during the distribution. Some 2,500 registered solo parents in the city are set to receive assistance from the city government as agreed  in a recent meeting presided by chief adviser IC Calaguas, together with executive assistant Reina Manuel, CSWDO admin head Chrysalene Cunanan, and Gender and Development officer-in-charge Mina Cabiles.
