Alien annual listup ends on Mar. 1—BI

The Bureau of Immigration (BI) has announced that the deadline for the alien’s annual report registration ends March 1, 2023, adding that there would be no extension for the listup.

The annual report is in compliance with the Alien Registration Act of 1950, which requires all foreign nationals with immigrant and non-immigrant visas to report to the bureau within the first 60 days of every calendar year.

BI Commissioner Norman Tansingco explained that under the law, aliens holding immigrant and non-immigrant visas, and were issued an alien certificate of registration identity card (ACR I-Card) are required to personally report to the bureau for the annual report. Also required to report are refugees and stateless aliens.

The venue of the annual report has been transferred from the BI Main Office to two major malls, namely Robinsons Place Manila and SM Mall of Asia.  Tansingco said that their aim is to bring the service closer to the people, to provide convenience and accessibility.

Apart from the two malls, BI offices nationwide may also cater to the reporting.

Aliens must present their original ACR I-Card and valid passport as well as pay a P300-annual report fee and P10-legal research fee.

Foreigners who are out of the country during the reporting period may still make the report within 30 days from the date of their return to the country, so long as their re-entry permits are still valid.

For aliens below the age of 14, their parent or legal guardian are obligated to make the report for them.  Senior citizens and persons with disability are exempted from personal appearance, he added, and may file through a representative with a Special Power of Attorney.

Meanwhile, the BI released an advisory addressing the technical glitch encountered by their annual report system last February 27.

As a result of the issue, the BI waived the penalties for the annual report for March 2, to accommodate reportees who were inconvenienced by the glitch.

The annual report offsite services will remain available at the Robinsons Place Manila until 01 March 2023, and at the SM Mall of Asia until 17 March 2023. Vito Barcelo
