Motorcycle taxi-hailing company Angkas expressed its full support for House Transportation Committee chair and Antipolo City second district Rep. Romeo Acop to let the proper body investigate complaints filed against Angkas.
Earlier this week, Acop was asked for his reaction regarding the alleged overcharging complaint filed against Angkas by the Coalition of Filipino Commuters.
The retired Philippine National Police General said Filipinos (CFC) have the right to file complaints against erring service providers. Once the case has been filed, the proper body should investigate.
Angkas CEO George Royeca said he completely agrees with Acop and that they are open to answering any queries.
The CFC charged Angkas before the Land Transportation Office (LTO) for its alleged failure to stop its abusive riders from overcharging customers during the holiday rush.
Despite the accusations, the Angkas CEO reaffirmed their commitment as the government partner for a safe and dependable motorcycle taxi ride-hailing service by enhancing professionalism in its operations, primarily among its riders.
Angkas has partnered with the Technical Education Skills Development Authority (TESDA) in providing its riders ample training to become professional and dependable motorcycle taxi riders to better serve the passengers. To widen its scope TESDA has recently partnered with MMDA to ensure that MC riders are trained when they traverse the Metro Roads.
“The Angkas thrust is professionalizing the MC Taxi industry. This is the reason why Ankas was created,” Royeca said.
Angkas’ commitment to service is not limited to Metro Manila but to other areas of the Philippines in need of alternative transportation.
It served thousands of festival goers and devotees of Sto. Nino by providing them with free rides in the recently concluded Sinulog Festival in Cebu.
“Angkas offers a professional and continuous transport services as Moto Taxi (MT) and is committed to help improve the economy of Cebu and the whole country in any way we could,” Royeca added.
