At least 33 agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) in Cebu have received 26.53 hectares of agricultural land from the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR.
The lands distributed were from the towns of Barili, comprising 12.68 hectares distributed to 11 ARBs, Badian town with 7.27 hectares to 14 ARBs, and Argao, with 6.58 hectares to eight ARBs.
The activity is in line with the directive of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to DAR Secretary Conrado Estrella III to expedite the distribution of lands to landless farmers.
Grace Fua, provincial agrarian reform program officer II, congratulated the farmers and reminded them of their responsibilities and obligations as they accepted the lands provided to them by the government.
“Always remember that you have a responsibility to cultivate the lands given to you. The DAR will provide you with the necessary support to make your farm become productive,” she said.
She urged the farmers to join ARB organizations as the DAR channeled its various support services through these organizations.
