President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has designated Jose Arturo Maddela Tugade, as the acting general manager of the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA).
Press Secretary officer-in-charge (OIC) Undersecretary Cheloy Velicaria-Garafil confirmed the appointment of Tugade who is the son of former Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade.
He will replace outgoing MIAA general manager Cesar Chiong. He will also serve as a member of the MIAA’s Board of Directors.
Malacañang has yet to release Tugade’s appointment paper. The younger Tugade has been immersed in the travel and airline industry, particularly in logistics, as well as in petroleum and freight or cargo handling.
MIAA oversees the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA), which serves the Metro Manila area and is considered the main international gateway to the Philippines.
