Caloocan City Mayor Dale Gonzalo “Along” Malapitan led the ceremonial turnover of the high-density housing project at Gloria Ville, Barangay 178 on Friday.

He is joined by Social Housing Finance Corporation (SHFC) president Federico Laxa and District 1 Representative Oca Malapitan.

According to the Housing and Resettlement Office (HARO), the beneficiaries were rescued from living in high-risk areas such as creeks and riverbeds.

In a short speech, Malapitan welcomed the residents and urged everyone to foster a good community.

He noted that some of the beneficiaries came from different cities but said they are still welcome to stay. He also gave assurance that the local government “will take care” of the residents.

In line with this, Laxa expressed his intention to amplify efforts on local housing, emphasizing good partnership with the Caloocan local government unit.

“SHFC aims to bridge the gap in the housing problem for not everyone is eligible for a bank or home loan. We’ll target more housing projects and work with several local governments, including Caloocan, to help our fellow Filipinos,” Laxa said.
