The Department of Agrarian Reform’s central office on Monday was conferred the International Organization for Standardization 9001:2015 certification as a proof of its compliance with internationally recognized management systems.

“This certification is proof of our commitment and dedication in giving our best in serving and providing lands, support services and agrarian justice to our farmer-beneficiaries,” Secretary John Castriciones said.

“I will ensure that strict compliance with the ISO standards is implemented,” he added.

He credited the careful and deliberate preparation by its top management and employees that led to the agency’s two successful audits in 2019.

He thanked those who took part in the certification process.

“This is a collective effort of the DAR. It signifies the continued improvement of DAR’s service to our stakeholders,” Undersecretary Lucius Jun Jun Malsi said.

Malsi is the agency’s ISO-Quality Management Service representative.

“We shouldn’t take this ISO certificate as a stiff rule, but rather, a tool to guide us in the effective implementation of DAR’s mandate. We will continually improve our systems and processes to better serve the farmers,” he said.

The ISO certification officially took effect on Dec. 6, 2019 and will expire on Dec. 5, 2020.
