Police arrest two, seize P400k shabu in Taguig buy-bust

Police have arrested two suspected drug dealers operating in south Metro Manila and seized more than P400,000 worth of shabu during a buy-bust operation late Sunday night in Taguig City.

The latest police operation, according to Southern Police District (SPD) director Col. Kirby Kraft, was part of a continuing crackdown on illegal drugs in the National Capital Region.

Arrested were Itan Gampong Dikalnan, 36, and Mark Gonzales Salipan, 37, both construction workers, who were described by the police as high value individual (HVI) and street level individual (SLI), respectively.

Combined elements from the SPD Drug Enforcement Unit and District Mobile Force Battalion conducted the entrapment operation at MLQ Street in Barangay New Lower around 10 p.m..

Seized from the suspects were 60 grams of shabu worth ₱408,000 and two firearms, one black .45-cal. revolver loaded with seven live bullets and one Smith and Wesson .38-cal revolver with four live bullets.

The money used in the buy-bust operation was also recovered from the suspects’ possession.

The suspects are now detained and will be charged with violation of Sections 5 and 11 under Art. II of Republic Act 9165 and RA 10591 while the recovered pieces of evidence were turned over to SPD Forensic unit for chemical analysis and ballistics examination.
