224,000 PNP, BJMP members have received COVID-19 jabs

The Philippine National Police and Bureau of Jail Management and Penology have vaccinated almost their entire force against the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

As of data released Sunday, 224,305 out of 224,573 members of the PNP, or 99.67 percent, have completed their primary doses.

Of the total, 219,648 cops or 98.24 percent have received booster doses.

The remaining ones are partially vaccinated (278 or 0.13 percent) or unvaccinated (454 or 0.20 percent).

No new cases were recorded Sunday, leaving the number of active infections at two.

The PNP Health Office data showed 48,863 cases were recorded since the start of the pandemic two years ago, 48,732 recovered, and 129 died.

Meanwhile, 18,593 or 99.76 percent of the 18,638 active personnel of the BJMP are already vaccinated against Covid-19 as of Saturday.

Of the 18,593 personnel vaccinated, 17,812 already received their first dose, 17,707 completed their second dose, and 781 were inoculated with a single-dose vaccine.

Meanwhile, 14,183 personnel or 76.10 percent have received their booster shots.

The BJMP currently has no active cases among persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) and personnel.

Based on the data of the Directorate for Health Service of the Jail Bureau, the last active single case among PDL was on March 27.

In a statement, BJMP chief Allan Iral said he is hoping the trend would continue as he urged all personnel in 475 district, city, and municipal jails nationwide to continue the strict implementation of health protocols.

Among inmates, 126,747 or 96.77 percent out of 130,972 have COVID-19 jabs — 112,044 with two doses and 9,852 with a single-dose jab.

A total 89,433 or 68.28 percent among the fully vaccinated have booster shots as of Saturday’s data.
