With the elections barely five weeks away, the UniTeam tandem of Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and Sara Duterte-Carpio have agreed to split up in their sorties in order to cover more areas of the country.

“There will be several areas that we will not campaign together because we have different areas to focus on,” Duterte-Carpio said in a chance interview in Antipolo when asked why her presidential tandem was not with her during the rally.

While Marcos was not with her in Limay, Bataan and in Antipolo City, the presidential candidate was in Mindanao, courting voters in Marawi City, Lanao del Sur and in Bukidnon.

“That is the agreement, to cover more areas. We need to split up and collaborate on certain areas,” Duterte-Carpio said.

Meanwhile, the National Unity Party (NUP) on Thursday announced its support for Duterte-Carpio, the candidate of Lakas-CMD.

“We wish to announce that the National Unity Party (NUP) has decided to endorse the vice presidential bid of Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte,” the NUP said.

“We call upon all our party members to join hands with the Uniteam of former Senator Bongbong Marcos and Mayor Sara in nurturing national unity, peace and development,” the NUP added.
