Dark knight’s bat signal lights up the skies

The bat signal illuminates the sky in cities across the globe Saturday to mark the caped crusader’s 80th anniversary.

Fans of the DC Comics superhero will have the chance to catch Batman’s signal flash in the following areas: Fed Square in Melbourne; Magnet by Shibuya 109 in Tokyo; The Leonardo Building in Johannesburg; Potzdamer Platz 11 in Berlin; Roma Termini in Rome; Galeries Lafayette in Paris; Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya in Barcelona; Senate House in London; Itausa-LMB in Sao Paulo; Domino Sugar Refinery in New York; Complex Dupuis in Montreal; Torre Reforma in Mexico City; and City Hall in Los Angeles.

Batman Dark Knight

In the US, a Batman-themed 5K marathon will be held in Los Angeles while Batman writers will conduct panel discussions across New York.

Batman Day is celebrated on the third Saturday of September every year in honor of the Dark Knight.
