Leyte Rep. Martin Romualdez and Tingog Sinirangan Party-list Rep. Yedda Marie Romualdez extend their felicitations to Iglesia ni Cristo Executive Minister Brother Eduardo Manalo on the homegrown religious group’s 105th founding anniversary today.

“We congratulate the influential and well-respected Iglesia ni Cristo led by Executive Minister, Brother Eduardo V. Manalo, on its 105th founding anniversary, the Romualdez couple said in a joint statement.

“We wish the INC more numerical strength, recognition and to continue to succeed in propagating the spiritual guidance, unity, good news and positive traits of the Filipinos.”

The Romualdez couple praised the INC for its meaningful activities that concentrate on job creation, education, health and environmental assistance where even non-members have been benefiting.

“Iglesia ni Cristo has been responsible for helping the character formation of Filipinos, especially the youth, in nation-building being one of the country’s moral compasses. Thank you Ka Eduardo for always being there to achieve social reforms and for promoting public welfare through your passion of serving God and country.”

The Romualdez couple said the Iglesia ni Cristo’s devotion to the abiding truth of God’s love has helped the revival of “bayanihan” among Filipinos.

“We are so fortunate to have the Iglesia ni Cristo whose leadership has been consistently behind humanitarian activities nationwide and some parts of the world through Lingap sa Mamamayan socio-civic malasakit [compassionate] program,” the couple said.

“This world-class initiative has shown the whole world that the ‘Bayanihan’ spirit is going great and is alive here in our country, and our people will forever remember this.”

The Romualdez couple, whose district covers Tacloban City or the hardest-Yolanda hit area, expressed their heartfelt appreciation to the INC for the humanitarian projects for the victims of super typhoon “Yolanda.”

“The Iglesia ni Cristo has been warm, generous and kind-hearted in helping less fortunate people through their spiritual programs, malasakit livelihood and assistance programs. Our heartfelt gratitude also to the Iglesia ni Cristo’s leadership for its assistance to the Yolanda survivors, including the housing and livelihood projects in Alang-alang, Leyte,” the couple said.

“What is admirable with the INC is that it is only one group and yet, they took on several projects which address the major needs of the “Yolanda” survivors like shelter, jobs, and food. Salamat po sa malasakit.”
