Students hospitalized after Davao quake

Students scampered out of their school in Toril, Davao following an Intensity 2 earthquake, which caused a stampede that injured more than 70.

The injured students were immediately rushed to hospitals.

The Intensity 2 quake, which also struck Bukidnon and Cagayan de Oro City, was an aftershock of the magnitude-5.6 earthquake in Cotabato on Tuesday night and was felt in the region on Wednesday.

According to radio reports, the incident happened at the Crossing Bayabas National High School.

The Davao City Police Office said the students rushed to the lower ground level of the school, which caused the stampede. It also reported that some students experienced fainting and dizziness.

Davao authorities and members of "Central 911" immediately responded to the incident.

According to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology, the Intensity 2 quake that struck Bukidnon, Cagayan de Oro City and Davao City was an aftershock of the magnitude-5.6 earthquake in Cotabato on Tuesday night.
