TV-host, actress Kris endorses first cousin Bam

Televison host-actress Kris Aquino has endorsed the candidacy of her first-degree cousin, Senator Paulo Benigno “Bam” Aquino IV, the only senatorial bet that she has endorsed so far.

At a news conference in Quezon City, the showbiz personality cited Bam’s performance in the Senate, saying he has the qualities of a good person and family man.

“What does Bam have that his wife, Timi, was willing to give up her [high-end] career just to help him campaign?” she asked.

She said she is supporting two from the opposition party, two others from the administration party and another one running as an independent.

“One [from the opposition] will be Bam,” she said.

Timi, for her part, said Bam’s “report card” should make him win again.

“Ate Kris is a family member. Despite such, she chooses on who to support. She is strict and discerning,” she told reporters. Rio N. Araja

The famous Kris Aquino, however, said she could never go against President Rodrigo Duterte.

“You cannot go against a tsunami,” she said when asked if she would ever join politics against presidential daughter Sara Duterte.

She claimed she has never been at odds with the Dutertes.

She even lauded the President for saying her first-degree cousin, Senator Paulo Benigno “Bam” Aquino IV, looked more like her father.

“At least, it only shows my father is handsome,” she said.

Bam is the nephew of Aquino’s father, the late senator Benigno Simeon “Ninoy” Aquino Jr.
