The Bureau of Immigration arrested a Swede wanted by authorities in his country for a string of large-scale fraud and swindling cases.

Kenneth Tobias Christoffer Moberg was arrested at his home in Barangay Poblacion Ilawod, San Enrique, Iloilo, according to   Commissioner Jaime Morente.

Moberg’s arrest was made at the request of the Bangkok-based Nordic Police and Customs Cooperation which informed the BI that said fugitive is the subject of a red notice from Interpol.

Moberg has a warrant of arrest issued by a Swedish court due to his involvement in multiple criminal offenses including gross fraud, attempted fraud and unlawful use of identity.

“He is also an overstaying and undocumented alien.  His passport was already revoked by the Swedish government,” BI-FSU chief Bobby Raquepo said.

Moberg hid in the Philippines since May 23, 2018 when he last arrived as a tourist. He did not bother to extend his stay since then.

Moberg, who is now detained at the BI detention facility in Taguig, will be deported upon issuance of a summary deportation order from the BI Board of Commissioners.

He will likewise be included in the immigration blacklist and banned from reentering the Philippines for being an undesirable alien.
