The Department of Foreign Affairs, through the Philippine Embassy in Norway, is in coordination with the Swedish authorities on the investigation into the death of a Filipina in Kista, Sweden.
The victim was identified as Mailyn Conde Sinambong, a Filipina mother of two, who was allegedly murdered by her Swedish actor-husband on Sept. 23.
The DFA reported the incident to the media on Sunday but did not name the suspect.
According to DFA Assistant Secretary Elmer Cato, the agency was informed of the incident by Mailyn’s mother Maria Monato, who personally sought assistance from the DFA Consular Office in Cebu.
Foreign Affairs Secretary Alan Peter Cayetano extended condolences to the bereaved family of Sinambong.
