In a recent Veritas Truth Survey, among 1,200 respondents from urban and rural areas nationwide, 39 percent of those surveyed said that they “strongly agree” on the legalization of divorce in the Philippines while 13 percent said that they “somewhat agree,” another 13 percent said they “somewhat disagree”, and only 35 percent said that they “strongly disagree” on the legalization of divorce in the country.

With a +/- 3 percent margin of error, those who said that they “strongly agree” on the legalization of divorce have a slight statistical edge over those who “strongly disagree.”

When stratified by Gender, Female Respondents favor more the legalization of Divorce with 43 percent saying they “strongly agree” versus 35 percent saying that they “strongly disagree.”

While their male counterpart at 34 percent said that they “strongly agree” while 35 percent said that they strongly disagree. And though among the male respondents we see that those who “strongly disagree” is 1 percent higher than those whose “strongly agree”, the +/- 3 percent margin of error makes the results a statistical tie within this gender group.

As to age grouping, those who “strongly agree” on the legalization of the divorce seems to appeal more towards the younger age group with the following results: Adolescence (13-20 years old) at 43 percent; Young Adults (21-39 years old) at 34 percent, Adults (40-60 years old) at 38 percent; and elderly (61 years old and above) at 19  percent.
