Eastern Samar has been put under state of calamity.
The provincial council, led by Eastern Samar Vice Governor Marcelo Picardal, passed the resolution today.
Tropical storm Urduja left two persons dead in the province.
The first victim was a child who fell off a canal and drowned.
A fisherman also died while out at sea.

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) in Eastern Samar is seeking P 120 million from the national government to be able to repair the damage to infrastructure done by Urduja.
The storm made landfall in San Policarpio, Eastern Samar last Saturday afternoon.
Residents experienced days of non-stop heavy rains even before the storm made landfall.
