Former President Benigno 'Noynoy' Aquino and Former Health Secretary Janette Garin are facing criminal complaints at the Ombudsman.

These charges include mass murder, plunder and graft.

The cases were filed today by Former Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Director General Augusto Syjuco at the Ombudsman.

Syjuco used as evidence some 22 newspaper articles that pointed to the roles of Aquino and Garin in the purchase of Dengvaxia from drug manufacturer Sanofi Pasteur and the 2016 immunization program of the Department of Health (DOH) that involved over 700,000 school children.

The former TESDA head said the Dengvaxia controversy is similar to the Mamasapano incident in Maguindanao because the vaccination program also put lives in danger.

He said it is the job of the Ombudsman to find more evidence to back his complaints and come out with the truth with regard to the controversy.

Upon learning about Syjuco's move, Garin says, she accepts the filing of charges against her.

She adds, the proceeding will give her the forum to answer the allegations against her.
