About 400 members of the Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) are still living and staging criminal activities in Sulu.
The figure comes from Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Task Force Sulu Commander Brigadier General Cirilito Sobejana.
Sobejana says, the bandits are still being led by Radulan Sahiron.
The ASG is currently holding 9 persons hostage.
6 of their victims are foreigners while three are Filipinos.
Sobejana claims, the group had become desperate and they have resorted to abducting even some residents of Sulu.
