Members of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) have arrested Pinagkaisang Samahan ng mga Tsuper at Operator Nationwide (PISTON) President George San Mateo.
This was at about 1 pm today in front of the Quezon City Hall of Justice.
The case is in connection with San Mateo's organization of a nationwide transport strike in February this year along with other transport groups, which was prohibited by the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB).
Quezon City Metropolitan Trial Court (MTC) Judge Don Ace Mariano Alagar had issued the warrant of arrest for San Mateo.
The court found probable cause for violation of the Commonwealth Act Number 146 or the Public Service Act.
