STATE workers are set to receive another round of increases after the Budget Department on Wednesday announced the implementation of the third tranche of salary increases for government employees starting January 2018.
In a news briefing, Budget Secretary Benjamin Diokno said that the government has allotted P24 billion for the third tranche of the Salary Standardization (Executive Order No. 201, s. 2016), expected to benefit more than 1.2 million government employees.
"Government workers, aside from increased basic salary, will continue to receive standard allowances and benefits, such as mid-year and a year-end bonus, each equal to one-month basic salary, cash gift, and the Productivity Enhancement Incentive," Diokno said.
Pay increases under the SSL are to be given in 4 parts annually from 2016, with the last tranche scheduled in 2019.
