The 3.2-kilometer additional 2-lane road from Napindan to M.L. Quezon Avenue was built under Phase I and Phase II of the Highway Project worth P512 million.

“This newly opened highway is part of a road network that we are building to ease congestion in this particular area and provide a barrier that would prevent back flow of water coming from the Laguna de Bay going to industrial and residential areas in Metro Manila,” said Villar.

The structures for pedestrians are integrated in the road projects to ensure inclusive mobility not just of motorists, but also bikers and pedestrians.

The Laguna Lake Highway Project covers the construction and widening of two bridges, improvement and concreting of existing dilapidated asphalt road, with provision of additional two lanes, and construction of 2-meter wide planting strips, 3-meter bike lane, and 1.5-meter sidewalk.

The road serve as an alternate route of motorists to avoid the congested Epifanio delos Santos Avenue and Circumferential Road 5.
