President Rodrigo Duterte has dismissed two employees in the Palace over suspicions they might be involved in corrupt activities.
"I just fired two employees from Malacanang for making a tool and suggesting that, you know, for using their influence," he said.
"Empleyado sila dyan tapos kung ano ano ang pinagsasabi sa labas na malakas sila (they are employees there then they say so many things outside that they have strong connections). I hate that," he explained.
Duterte first mentioned his move in a speech on Thursday and talked about it again while in Brunei Darrusalam.
He did not identify who the two government workers are to supposedly save them from embarassment.
