The Philippine National Police (PNP) reports the body of the dead boy found in Nueva Ecija on Tuesday last week does not belong to 14-year-old Reynaldo "Kulot" De Guzman.

PNP Deputy Director General Fernando Mendez Jr. told newsmen in Camp Crame that the DNA sample taken from the corpse did not match the DNA samples of the parents of De Guzman.

De Guzman was the companion of slain University of the Philippines student Carl Angelo Arnaiz.

They were last seen on August 17, 2017 in Cainta, Rizal.

This was a day before Arnaiz was killed on August 18, following an alleged shootout with Caloocan City policemen, supposedly after an incident of robbery-holdup committed by Arnaiz against a taxi driver.

The body found last Tuesday in Nueva Ecija bore multiple stab wounds.

It was floating on Kinamatayang Kabayo Creek in Barangay San Roque, Gapan City.

The body was positively identified by De Guzman's father last Wednesday.

Prior to this development, De Guzman was supposed to be buried on Wednesday.
