Senator Panfilo Lacson has identified the alleged key personalities involved in the large-scale bribery system at the Bureau of Customs (BOC).
In a privilege speech at the Senate on Wednesday afternoon, Lacson said even resigned Customs Commissioner Nicolas Faeldon was receiving payola (bribe).
Upon assumption into office, Faeldon had reportedly received a 'welcome pasalubong' or bribe in the amount of P 100 million.
"Welcome pa lang, may kita na (money was already earned with a simple welcome gesture)," he noted.
He also identified several deputy commissioners and Customs officials who were allegedly getting payola as well.
He also named some 44 personalities who are involved in the bribery.
He provided a comprehensive list of bribe givers, bagmen and collectors operating at BOC.
The senator said "tara" system is at the very core of the customs operations.
