Customs exceeded target–Faeldon

The Bureau of Customs collected more than P212 billion in duties and taxes for the first six months of the year, up 11.3 percent from the P190 billion reported during the same period last year.

Customs Commissioner Nicanor Faeldon reported that the country’s second biggest tax collection agency collected a total of P212.16 billion from January to June, up by more than P22 billion during the first six months of 2017 under the Duterte adminisration.

Of the 17 collection districts, 10 ports have exceeded their collection targets for the month and these are the Port of San Fernando which collected P1.517 billion, up 35.4 percent from P1.120-billion target; Port of Legaspi collected P194.5 million, up 58.8 percent from P122.4-million target; Port of Iloilo with P1.213 billion, up 0.7 percent from P1.205-billion target and the Port of Tacloban that earned P169.8 million, up 59.3 percent from P106.6-million target.
