Some LGUs suspend afternoon classes due to bad weather

Some local government units (LGU) have suspended school classes for Wednesday afternoon in all levels.

These are Muntinlupa City and Laguna.

Classes are also suspended in all levels in Baras, Cainta, Morong, Taytay and Teresa, Rizal.

Afternoon classes from pre-school to junior high school are also suspended in Cavite.

PAGASA reports, the southwest monsoon is affecting the whole country.

The monsoon rains are enhanced by a typhoon outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).

This is typhoon "Noru."

Noru has been located 1,595 kilometers east northeast of Basco, Batanes.

It is packing maximum sustained winds of up to 165 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gustiness of up to 205 kph.

The typhoon outside PAR is forecast to move northwest at 13 kph.
