THE Ramos Peace and Development Foundation and the Manila Bulletin Publishing Corp. are set to launch Volume XII of a series compilations of selected “sermons” from FVR column “On Empowering The Filipino People” in the Manila Bulletin every Sunday.

The book launch will be on July at 4 p.m. at the DND Social Hall in Camp General Emilio Aguinaldo in Quezon City.

As with earlier volumes in this series, Volume XII will be launched in time for the next State of the Nation Address by President Rodrigo Duterte, scheduled on July 24 before a joint session of Congress at the Batasang Pambansa.

As the title “Make Change Work!” suggests, this book, according to a press statement from the Foundation, aims to serve as a reference for the Filipino people and their leaders in achieving and effecting genuine change.

It said: “Reflecting on our histories as a nation, it seems that the triumphs we have achieved are almost always equally offset by setbacks, constantly slowing the progress we make as a people.

“Given the recent events happening around the world such as the terrorist attacks in Marawi, Kabul, Paris, and London, the worsening effects of the climate change, and the increasing interconnectedness of the world, it is only apt that we as Filipinos start rethinking on our role as citizens of this planet… and how we could be able to contribute to the positive change our world currently needs.”

The book is part of of RPDEV’s “continuing education advocacies and publication program areas, namely: enduring peace in the Asia-Pacific region, sustainable development, socio-economic diplomacy, and democratic governance.”
