The southwest monsoon prevailing in the western section of Luzon is the reason why rain is pouring in Metro Manila and nearby provinces.

PAGASA weather forecaster Bennison Estareja says, there is currently no Low Pressure Area or storm in the vicinity of the Philippine archipelago but the southwest monsoon or ‘habagat’ is bringing rains mainly in Ilocos Sur, Zambales, Bataan and other areas in Luzon as well as in Western Visayas.

Metro Manila will experience intermittent rains.

This weather will go on all throughout Thursday until dawn of Friday.

Temperature in the National Capital Region ranges from 26 to 33 degrees Celsius.

Estareja says, there may be a break from the rains possibly on the last day of May until the first two days of June.

The southwest monsoon occurs from June to October.
