Duterte congratulates South Korea’s new leader

President Rodrigo Duterte sends his congratulations to new South Korean President Moon Jae-In.

Moon has just taken his oath of office after a landslide victory in Tuesday’s presidential elections in South Korea.

Duterte hopes that during Moon’s term, South Korea and the Philippines’ close bilateral relations will remain.

The Philippine President has also expressed his wish that Moon will be able to govern well.

Moon replaces Park Geun-Hye who was impeached two months ago over a corruption scandal.
