A new terminal for passenger buses bound for Cavite and Batangas has opened in Pasay City.

The site called Southwest Interim Provincial Terminal (SWIPT) and it has been set up by the  Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) for use of about 300 southbound provincial buses.

SWIPT is located at HK Sun Plaza shopping mall and the place can be reached from EDSA by turning right to Diosdado Macapagal Boulevard.

Provincial buses used to pick up passengers at the Coastal Mall in Parañaque City.

The MMDA pays the mall around P 1.5 million in monthly rent.

The new facility in SWIPT does not charge any terminal fee.

MMDA Chairperson Tim Orbos also says, the new terminal has bigger space compared to the other one at the Coastal Mall.

On day one of operations at SWIPT, bus drivers complained about the lack of passengers to fill their vehicles.

They say, many commuters still do not know about the transfer of the terminal from Coastal Mall to SWIPT in HK Sun Plaza.
