Former matinee idol Romeo “Bobby” Vazquez has passed away.
He died at the age of 78 in Los Angeles at 10:33 am on Tuesday (Wednesday in Manila).
Vasquez, who was Roberto Sumilang in real life, acted in several movies with former wife Amalia Fuentes.
He was also among the leading men of versatile actress Vilma Santos in some films.
Vasquez was the father of late actress Liezl Martinez.

Liezl’s husband, actor Albert Martinez, describes his father-in-law as his “best friend.”
“You ill be missed. Gone to soon,” Martinez said in a post.
