Presidential Spokesperson Ernesto Abella explains why President Rodrigo Duterte seems very decisive in sacking Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Ismael Sueno while the chief executive chooses to retain the services of Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) Chief Operating Officer Cesar Montano.
Allegations of corruption plague both Sueno and Montano.
Abella says, the President quickly ruled on Sueno’s fate because he is a cabinet member.
“It is something he can act on with decisiveness. It is something with deep importance for him,” the presidential spokesperson states.
Last month, Duterte had said, he still trusts Montano.
Some TPB employees had previously accused Montano of irregularities.
They said the veteran actor had entered into a contract for a concert worth P 11.2 million.
Montano had reportedly performed in this event as guest singer, along with his nieces on January 18, 2017.
