Pensioners of the Social Security System (SSS) who fall under special cases may now withdraw today their additional monthly benefit worth at least one thousand pesos.

SSS President and Chief Executive Officer Emmanuel Dooc says, “some 41,000 pensioners under special cases may withdraw their additional P 1,000 benefits for the months of January to March on Friday.”

He also adds, “since this is retroactive since the approval of President Duterte on January 10, they will receive around P 1,000 to P 3,000 pension differential.”

Those who have special cases are:

Pensioners who have death claims with more than one payee and one of them is overpaid;

Payees with withheld shares;

And those who are covered by the Bilateral Social Security Agreement between the Philippines and other countries and the Portability Law.

Dooc adds, SSS has released P 71.8 million to its partner banks for withdrawal of SSS pensioners with special cases.
