A court in Panabo City, Davao del Norte has released a warrant of arrest for Edgar Matobato.
Regional Trial Court (RTC)-4 Judge Dorothy Gonzaga issued the arrest warrant.
The case stems from Matobato’s alleged involvement in the kidnapping of Turkish national Sali Makdum in 2002.
No bail will be granted to Matobato.
During the past Senate hearings, Matobato had testified that he was a hitman and a member of the so-called Davao Death Squad (DDS) operating supposedly under then Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte.

He had said he was involved in the abduction of Makdum on Samal Island.
