Taguig judge as CA justice

TAGUIG City regional trial court Judge Louis P. Acosta has been appointed associate justice of the Court of Appeals replacing Associate Justice Agnes Reyes Carpio who retired last Dec. 2.

In a letter to Chief Justice Ma. Lourdes Sereno, Malacañang informed her that President Duterte appointed Acosta as CA magistrate last March 2, but the Office of the Chief Justice only received his appointment papers on Friday.

Earlier, the President had appointed Sandiganbayan Associate Justice Samuel R. Martires and CA Associate Justice Noel G. Tijam as SC associate justices. They filled the 14th and 15th slots in the 15-member SC.
