Muntinlupa Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 205 Judge Amelia Fabros-Corpuz heard on Friday the motion of Senator Leila De Lima that seeks to quash the charge of illegal drug trade filed by the Department of Justice (DOJ).
The court is giving the DOJ ten days to comment on the motion.
Corpuz is also hearing the motion of the prosecution seeking to consolidate the three cases filed against De Lima at the sala of another judge – Branch 204 Judge Juanita Guerrero.
Three separate courts are currently handling the three charges – branch 204 of Guerrero, branch 205 of Corpuz and branch 206 of Judge Patria Manalastas-De Leon.
DOJ Senior State Prosecutor Peter Ong is also seeking a gag order against all parties involved in the cases.
The next hearing in the sala of Judge Corpuz is on April 21, 2017 at 9 am.
