Pasig cops acquire body cameras

Some policemen in Pasig City will now be able to wear body cameras in their operations.

This comes after local government units provided the cops 84 pieces of the electronic devices.

Cops stationed at a checkpoint in Barangay Oranbo are among the recipients of the body cameras.

Pasig Police Chief Senior Superintendent Orlando Niebra Jr. says, the cameras will record if cops will violate human rights during anti-crime operations.

The devices will also record how criminal suspects respond to police raids.

Philippine National Police - National Capital Region Office (PNP-NCRPO) Chief Oscar Albayalde witnessed the turnover of the gadgets to the policemen.
