Malacañang has announced the suspension of classes in all public schools in all levels in Metro Manila effective Thursday afternoon.
This was announced by Presidential Spokesperson Ernesto Abella at the press briefing before noon today.
He said the decision was made by Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea.
Abella added, it is up to the administration of private schools to make their own announcements.
Aside from this, the palace has also ordered the suspension of work in all national government agencies in the National Capital Region (NCR).
Government employees under the executive branch may go home by 1 pm.
These developments were prompted by bad weather due to the southwest monsoon which is further enhanced by tropical storm "Gorio."
PAGASA says Gorio is leaving on Tuesday next week.
The storm may even develop into a severe tropical storm.
