Heavy traffic congestion is currently being experienced by motorists approaching the Metro Manila Skyway in Makati City.
This is happening near the exit gate of Cash and Carry Supermarket in Palanan, Makati City.
A capping beam rebar of a construction project in the area crashed into two vehicles below the flyover at 9:50 am.
The first vehicle is a Honda Jazz and the second vehicle is a Toyota Avanza.
The two vehicles were parked in the area and no passenger was inside when the mishap took place.
A worker initially reported that it was a crane that fell, but authorities later clarified that it was actually a beam.
About five contruction workers of real estate developer DMCI sustained minor injuries in the incident and they were brought to Ospital ng Maynila.
Traffic enforcers have closed some streets as they clear the road of this obstruction.
Traffic congestion has affected the southbound lane of the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX).
As of 12 noon on Tuesday, Osmena Highway has also been closed.
The clearing of debris will take about two to three hours.
